Updates for the 2020 North America Spelling Champion Challenge

As the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) continues, The North America Spelling Champion Challenge is canceling its 2020 competition. The enrollment season for 2021 will open soon.

 OUR HISTORY

The North America Spelling Champion Challenge originated in United States and quickly grew into one of the most popular spelling competitions in North America. NASCC strives to build a bridge of friendship for young people around the world.

Since 2015, NASCC has officially launched a joint cooperation with other spelling committees and spelling organizers in the United States, Canada, China, Vietnam, Singapore, and Africa to invite top spellers from national and regional Spelling Bee competitions to come to cities in North America to partake in a two-week-long gathering in every July. During the gathering, NASCC will provide a summer camp consisting of courses in spelling combined with fun activities and an opportunity to develop international friendships and create connections before the challenge. After the competitions, the NASCC committee will take those foreign spellers to enjoy a one-week-long cross cultural exploration to deepen their global exchanges and cultural understanding of youth education.

NASCC hopes that the spelling bee will serve as a way to gather the world’s outstanding young people to make use of the power of the word for the betterment of the world. An optimistic future of the world contributes strength to the youth of the world. Join NASCC and achieve your dream of spelling words. Bridging the worlds with words!

 OUR PROGRAM

The NASCC runs two-week long intensive spelling training camps, two-day spelling competitions and a one-week cross cultural exploration in July every year. At camp, NASCC will provide spellers with a summer camp consisting of courses in spelling combined with fun activities where they can receive coaching from some of the top spelling instructors in the world and participate in several practice spelling competitions. Spellers who attend the camp see a dramatic improvement in their spelling, communicative skills and research abilities. The two-day spelling competitions provide spellers with a stage and opportunities to realize their dream. The cross cultural exploration can make foreign spellers experience different education in North America and deepen their global exchanges and cultural understanding of global youth education.

NASCC welcomes all students from Grades 1-8 and we will give special support to qualified top spellers wanting to participate in the competition (For detailed information and registration information, see 2020 NASCC INFORMATION).  NASCC will offer the prizes with a total award of $10,000 and one week all-inclusive trip in China in August. Come and join the fun at NASCC. We promise a great meet experience for all spellers!
